I've never felt Lifetime or Project Runway fully understands it's phenomenal & unexpected success. For my friends & family, we're not fashionistas, & our lives are way too busy to follow fashion. But we love love love watching the creative process, and a show that we can watch with our very young children and they can observe & be inspired, both to teach & create. It's no coincidence my 4 yr old daughter pulls out her Legos when we watch Project Runway - she's inspired by the sketches, the colors, and just wants to build and be creative! As a parent, let me tell you, it is ~extremely~ difficult to find family-friendly shows that are not violent, not condescending, and that have an inclusive value system. So thanks so much Nick for being a part of something inspirational to enjoy on TV.

Also, I don't think anyone would have noticed the "school yard pick" if you hadn't mentioned it. My read is, you're a teacher at heart, Mondo & Anya are first-time mentors. The first round of designers picked (i.e,. the "top half") already had a firm idea of their identity, & didn't think they needed that much help or direction. The "bottom half" generally seemed to prefer Nick, whose advise is both specific & abundant! (LOL) I don't think it had much to do with the "cool kid" crowd (except maybe Sam). I am particularly interested to see the difference between teacher & mentor, and how that plays out in the competition. Best wishes & good luck to you!Haugheyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14672050624672168061noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21072956.post-37577106132023902392014-01-25T09:43:04.598-08:002014-01-25T09:43:04.598-08:00I am so glad to have read your summary of this epi...I am so glad to have read your summary of this episode! I really look forward to seeing the critiques of those who chose to NOT be on your team. I felt terrible seeing these designers choosing to not be with you, particularly when you called yourself an 'old man' which is so untrue! You have wonderful taste and I really think those who are not on your team are going to seriously regret not choosing someone who has experience as an instructor in the classroom. Like Tim Gunn, you have the delivery that it can take to explain to a designer what you are looking for. I do not see Anya and Mondo having a lot of success in that kind of situation. Cannot wait to see more posts on here.
Best wishes!
WhitneyWorthyStylehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02509683372492114140noreply@blogger.com
