This past week was the annual "3 Days of Fashion" Summer Program organized by FIDM/Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising. As you all know, I graduated from FIDM, taught at FIDM, and I am also the Official Spokesperson for the College...

"3 Days of Fashion" is an annual "Summer Fashion Camp" for high school students--mostly Juniors and Seniors--where they get to spend three days doing various seminars and workshops including Draping, Styling, Visual Communications, Sketching, highlighting all the wonderful majors FIDM has to offer and getting students interested in possibly attending the College. I am honored to always make a "Special Appearance" on the final "Graduation" day of the "3 Days of Fashion" at all the four FIDM campuses.

At these appearances, I talk about how I chose FIDM to pursue my fashion career, and give advice on how to get the most that the college has to offer, as well as dish on all the celebs who have worn my designs, my experience on "Project Runway" and recently winning the "Top Mentor" prize on "Project Runway: Under The Gunn".  I even bring one of my favorite models to show some of my NIKOLAKI dresses and gowns. This year my first visit was to FIDM Orange County. Located in Irvine California, FIDM Orange County is right in the heart of the Activewear fashion industry and home to the iconic St. John fashion brand.

The lovely Amanda is getting married soon and so David and I decided to give her a present at FIDM Orange County 2014 "3 Days of Fashion": a "NV Nick Verreos" dress--the printed "Davida" dress which features a halter spaghetti-strapped neckline with drawstring waist and hi-lo top detail.

FIDM OC Runway Boys--As part of my FIDM Orange County 2014 "3 Days of Fashion" Appearance, I gathered  all the boys attending the FIDM Orange County 2014 "3 Days of Fashion" and made them do a Runway Walk-Off--above are the participants--they were ALL great!
