MUSEUM BLOG.....Metropolitan Museum of Art "Camp: Notes On Fashion": BLOG with ALL THE PHOTOS!

Category Is...CAMP!--Designs from Metropolitan Museum of Art's "Camp: Notes On Fashion" Exhibition--Designs from (L to R) Bob Mackie, Marjan Pejoski, Moschino by Jeremy Scott, Jean Paul Gaultier, Burberry by Christopher Bailey

Recently, I had the visited New York City's Metropolitan Museum of Art's "Camp: Notes On Fashion" Exhibition with y better half, David Paul. The fabulous exhibition just opened--precluded by the fabulous "Met Gala", which featured many A-listers try (and, really, I mean try) to give their best CAMP...some succeeded and some, not so muchey!

Met Boy--Nick Verreos at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, NYC

David Paul and Nick Verreos--The Metropolitan Museum of Art, NYC

This was especially obvious after we attended the exhibition. Both David and I LOVED the exhibit and the COUTURE on display. Yet at the same time, we couldn't help but think "Did some of those "Met Gala" guests actually get the memo!!??". The exhibition featured 250+ objects dating from the 17th century to the present, exploring the origins of  camp's exuberant aesthetic. Susan Sontag's 1964 essay "Notes on 'Camp'" provides the framework for the exhibition, which examines how the elements of irony, humor, parody, pastiche, artifice, theatricality, and exaggeration are expressed in fashion.

Here are my photos from this must-see exhibit:
