WHO WORE WHAT?.....70th Annual Golden Globes: Jessica Alba in Oscar de la Renta

Jessica Alba in Oscar de la Renta Pre-Fall 2013: Another stand-out of the night was Jessica Alba in this "hot off the runway" Pre-Fall Tangerine silk taffeta gown with a mermaid shape and beautiful low back bustle detailing.

I am not sure I'm 100% on board with the marabou handbag and matching lipstick but with that hairstyle and gorgeous Harry Winston diamond necklace, she is definitely giving you Old School Hollywood Glamour!

WHO WORE WHAT?.....69th Annual Golden Globe Awards: Jessica Alba in Gucci Premiere

Jessica Alba in Custom Gucci Premiere: Another Actress that looked absolutely stunning last night was Jessica Alba in this Dusty Rose Strapless Gown with Beaded Petal-like Detailing and Chiffon Draping. In case you didn't know, Gucci began a Custom Line of Dresses called Gucci Premiere specifically to outfit celebs for major Red Carpet appearances. Since Gucci is mainly a luxury Sportswear Brand, someone realized "Hey, we are missing out on all that Red Carpet Advertising!" and Viola! Gucci Premiere was born. To date, I don't think they have had one miss! Remember Hilary Swank at the Oscars last year?! Jessica (and her stylist) chose the perfect earrings for the gown with these Bulgari Diamond Drops. And her modern chignon was the perfect compliment to the entire look. She finished off the look with this DTM (dyed to match) Roger Vivier clutch and exquisite Bulgari diamond bracelet.

WHO WORE WHAT?.....10th Annual CFDA Awards: Lady Gaga, Jessica Alba, Chloe Sevigny

Born Fashionably...
Lady Gaga: Wearing Mugler to the 2011 CFDA Awards
The 10th Annual CFDA/Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards for 2011 were handed out tonight at the Alice Tully Hall in the Lincoln Center New York City. And the Red Carpet Star of the Night was none other than Miss Lady Gaga. Miss Gaga was being honored as "Fashion Icon" and she was on hand to accept her award. She wore a teal pageboy wig and Mugler high-low gown. And to no one's surprise: Some SERIOUS platform boots (above). I have to say, she looked kinda SEXY!!! I've never thought of Lady Gaga as sexy but huney! She done BROUGHT IT, with this ensemble! Live for this moment darling. Live for it. Jessica Alba: 30 year old--and very pregnant, actress Jessica Alba wore a two-toned custom empire-waisted and drop-shouldered Diane Von Furstenberg gown in peach and purple silk Habotai. I will not say anything nasty about a pregnant woman so I will say, Jessica Alba looked "Pretty". Love the color combination. Chloe Sevigny: Rumor has it that what she wore is a "Sneak Peak" of her new line for Opening Ceremony. It was a black ruffled leather plunging neck top and eyelet pencil skirt with a peplum. Loved it. Modern, chic, you-go-Chloe! Love the black-and-white shoes. Kirsten Dunst: Kirsten wore a black with turquoise blue shawl collared tuxedo suit with matching UBER skinny pants from NYC-based CFDA 2008, 2009, 2010 Swarovski Award for Menswear Nominee Designer Patrik Ervell. She accessorized with Prada shoes and slicked back up-do mini-bun hairstyle. I like seeing this more "androgynous" side of Kirsten. It's very Euro. Her tiny frame can really handle this super skinny and super fitted look. Lucy Liu: Liu wore a black strapless gown by LA-based/shows-in-NY-only designer Monique Lhuillier. It was, dare I say it, A BIT much! This was more of an Oscars gown as opposed to CFDA Awards. Leave the big gown moments to Miss Lady Gaga--or Cannes. I have to say that unfortunately, this was a bit of a MISS for me...I think Lucy thought she was at Cannes but somehow forgot... Marcia Cross: Desperate Housewives star Marcia Cross went the complete opposite of her Bree Hodge character for the 2011 CFDA Awards. She went DISCO Happy, wearing a halter neckline jumpsuit (they are ALL THE RAGE kids!) from designer Pamela Rolland. I think she looked rather HOT! If you're going to wear a sequined 1979-inspired jumpsuit, it should be for the CFDA's. Seriously.
Here's a Rundown of This Year's CFDA Awards' Winners:
Womenswear Designer of the Year: Proenza Schouler
Menswear Designer of the Year: Michael Bastian
Accessory Designer of the Year: Alexander Wang
Swarovski Award for Menswear: Robert Geller
Swarovski Award for Womenswear: Prabal Gurung

International Award: Phoebe Philo
Media Award: Hilary Alexander
Founders Award: Hal Rubenstein

WHO WORE WHAT?.....Vogue's Met Ball 2010: Andre Leon Talley, Jessica Alba, Jennifer Lopez

Met Ball DRAMA! Duvet Crazy: Andre Leon Talley and Whoopi Goldberg in Chado Ralph Rucci Last night was the Met's "American Woman: Fashioning A National Identity" Costume Institute Gala. This year’s exhibition, organized by the curator Andrew Bolton, looked at styles between 1890 and the 1940s, relying on pieces from the Brooklyn Museum’s collection like Worth gowns and gray wool walking suits. And as it has been in the past, it was a collision of Fashion and Hollywood. It has become the fashionista sister to the Academy Awards red carpet. Actresses take more risks and there are more "editorial" looks. Some things stood out: Lots of "So-and-So for The Gap" (the entire exhibition is sponsored by The Gap). We know that several US designers have collaborated with The Gap and Miss Anna Wintour is "in charge" of choosing who gets to do it-or at the very least, suggesting it (see "The September Issue"). Now I know that this silk charmeuse $10,000 bias-cut gown by Sophie Theallet (for The Gap) on Jessica Alba AIN'T going to be at my Glendale Galleria Gap Store any time soon... But it WAS , one of my favorites. There were several "Silhouette Themes": SLITHERING and SLINKY, as seen on Iman, wearing Prada--who has just signed on as the new co-host of Bravo's "The Fashion Show" (Bye, Kelly Rowland, Hello Iman!)--as well as model-turned-actress Amber Valetta, who I thought looked very elegant in RM by Roland Mouret. There was also some BIG and BOLD statements:Anne Hathaway, in gold/nude silk tulle Valentino which was very "Dior-esque" and...Jennifer Lopez, wearing Lebanese red carpet-favorite Zuhair Murad. There were also some Tulip-shaped Gowns:Eva Mendes wore a strapless Dolce & Gabbana flower-printed gown. Some designer-and-actress collaborations tried to pay homage to the Met's "American Woman" theme, giving a nod to the late 19th Century/ early 20Th Century American Woman: Like in actress Christina Hendricks' L'Wren Scott chiffon gown and Bee Shaffer's (Anna Wintour's daughter's) Worth-like Balenciaga Edition gown. Some of my other favorites from last night's "American Woman" Met Gala's red carpet were: Naomi Watts , in Stella McCartney raspberry silk, one shoulder, blouson gown (with Liev Schreiber). This was THE BEST mini-cocktail dress of the evening: Blake Lively, in Marchesa Australian actress Melissa George in J. Mendel mustard draped silk gazar was truly beautiful.Speaking of Mustard: Stylist Extraordinaire Rachel Zoe, looked AMAZING in this Marc Jacobs velvet draped plunging-neck creation. It was modern yet still gave a subtle "I got you!" to the Met's theme. Her hair and make-up were sublime, naturally, because my good friend Joey Maalouf did it! (congrats Joey!) I also loved this very Donna Summer-meets-Studio 54 gold lame Michael Kors jumpsuit on model Chanel Iman. This is another, very modern way, of giving red carpet. Models can usually WORK this look much more effectively than actresses. Finally, I must give a nod to the MEN. And one man stood out for me: YSL Designer Stefano Pilati, who dressed actress January Jones. But it wasn't her I was interested in, I think he looked SMASHING! If I had an extra $5,000 to spend on a tuxedo for an event such as this, THIS would be it! Below is WWD.com video from the red carpet, Met Costume Exhibit Ball 2010:

NICK APPEARANCES.....Inaugural Parties Nick Verreos in Washington DC

Party-Hopping DC Style Step-&-Repeat: Nick and DC reporter (and Project Runway fan), at Inaugural Night Party, L2/Leopold's Kafe I was honored and humbled to have been invited to host the California State Society and FIDM Presidential Luncheon and Fashion Show in Washington DC and to be there during this historic Inaugural. But, of course, I also hoped that maybe David and I could "hit up" some parties while in the US Capital. Unfortunately, I was not invited to any of those fabulous Balls (there were MANY!), but I was invited to several very cool and fun Inaugural parties during my stay. Welcome to the Embassy: The Ambassador of Kuwait's wife, Rima Al-Sabah with designer Tory Burch The first party I was invited to was Sunday evening's illustrious Cocktail Buffet Party given by the Ambassador of Kuwait and his stylish wife, Rima Al-Sabah to celebrate the Inauguration of President Obama and Vice President Joe Bidden. The party was also hosted by world-renowned architect Leo Daly and his wife, former Chief-of-Staff for President Reagan, Ken Duberstein and his wife, and DC Mayor Adrian Fenty and his wife and CEO of the Washington Post, Donald Graham. Rima Al-Sabah is known to be THE unofficial Hostess of Washington DC, and is always on the "Best Dressed Lists" of the world. Runway to Cocktail Buffet: Aerin Lauder Zinterhofer (above photo) and the stunning Balenciaga dress (Fall 2008) she wore to the Kuwaiti Embassy Inaugural Party The party was held at the Kuwait Ambassador's residence. Upon entering the home, all the guests gathered in the immense inner Courtyard which featured a gorgeous fountain right in the middle of it. Republicans Unite: Actress Bo Derek and Colin Powell at Kuwaiti Embassy Party There were hundreds of guests; all of them the creme-de-la-creme of Washington DC, Hollywood and NY. I was in CNN and BBC World News Heaven: I recognized Wolf Blitzer, ABC's George Stephanopoulos and his lovely wife, actress Alexandra Wentworth, Colin Powell, Opera Diva Renee Fleming, socialite designer Tory Burch, Estee Lauder heiress Aerin Lauder Zinterhofer (in black Balenciaga by Nicolas Ghesquiere--see above), actress Bo Derek and even Linda Carter, of "Wonder Woman" fame. Thank God David came with me as my "date", since I did not know anyone. Kuwaiti Couture: The black Alexander McQueen dress (on the right) worn by Mrs. Al-Sabah, wife of the Kuwaiti Ambassador, sans the mask of course I did say "hello" to the hostess, Mrs. Al-Sabah and complimented her fabulously chic Alexander McQueen black side-draped cocktail dress, from his Spring 2008 Collection. I was happy to have bumped into "Desperate Housewives" creator Marc Cherry. We ended up DISHING on Project Runway. There were full bars in almost every corner and a dining room featuring a Middle Eastern-inspired buffet with such delights as Kubideh beef, chicken and rice, Falafel, Hommus, Filpino lumpias, and the most yummy shrimp which I later found out Mrs. Al-Sabah has flown in all the way from KUWAIT!!!!!! Better Late than Never: Toby shows up to Host the Artists and Atheletes Alliance Inaugural Party On Monday evening, I was invited to attend the Capitol File Magazine and Artists and Atheletes Alliance Inaugural party at DC's Cafe Milano. It was hosted by "Spiderman" actor, Toby Maguire. The party went from 7- 10 PM. Toby showed up at around 9 PM, did a "lap" to greet guests and take photos. Strike a Pose: Jennifer Lopez gives it to you! Also at the party were Jennifer Lopez (in a gold mini dress-she must have been really COLD!) and her hubby Marc Anthony. I also ran into the always stylish Judith Light, actress from "Ugly Betty". There were several open bars and lots of hors d'oeuvres being passed around and in buffet style (which I heard was rare for some of the larger Balls and parties so I guess we were lucky). A guest told us that they had gone to the supposed much-larger Latino Ball and decided to return to this party that we were at to eat something, because there was NO FOOD (at the Latino Ball)!! I ended up spending the party having my photo taken with a lot of the guests--I guess Washington DC has a lot of Project Runway fans... She Bangs: Actress Jessica Alba at Inaugural Night Party, L2/Leopold's Kafe The last party I attended with David was on Inaugural Tuesday night, the Artists Making An Impact Party at L2 and Leopold's Kafe in Georgetown. During the Kuwaiti Embassy Party a couple nights before, I befriended a guest who happened to be a talent agent with United Talent Agency/UTA visiting from Los Angeles. He was gracious enough to invite me to another party held by Artists Making An Impact. It was the only party we would attend on Inaugural Night and the fact that we were leaving for Los Angeles on a very early flight the next day (7 AM!) helped us make it an "early night". It was a lovely event, very low-key and classy, with finger foods, deserts and lots of Champagne to celebrate. We spotted actors Ben Affleck and Jessica Alba (who was there with husband Cash Warren). Everyone was very well dressed in either gowns, cocktail dresses or tuxedos. I chose to wear my white Dinner Jacket and bow tie. After a couple of glasses of Champagne and one delicious Margarita later, David and I called it a night and took a cab back to our hotel to try and get at least 4 hours of sleep before being picked up by our Airport "Cinderella Pumpkin Carriage". Thanks for a fabulous week Washington DC!!!
