WHAT: Moschino Menswear Fall/Winter 2017 and Moschino Womenswear Pre-Fall 2017. Moschino Creative Director/Designer Jeremy Scott continued with the trend of showing both men and women that is happening at Milan MENSWEAR Fashion Week. According to Vogue.com, Scott has been "exasperated" and "mad as hell" over the "global situation", and especially Trump. Therefore, this collection suggested "Doomsday"-like fashion...it reminded me of stylish Eastern European spies from East Berlin.

TRENDS: Doomsdaywear; guerillawear; petticoat dresses for women; berets; flak jackets; cargo pants; bold prints; braided berets; 80s combat boots.

COLORS: Khaki, camouflage prints, oversized rose prints, red, black, teal.

WHAT: Prada Menswear (and some Womenswear) Fall/Winter 2017. The show was co-ed, featuring womenswear designs as well from Prada Pre-Fall 2017, a trend with many of the so-called Menswear shows occurring on the international runways.

TRENDS: 70's, Muses: "Starsky and Hutch", Brooklyn/Paris Boho-meets-Grandma Chic, corduroy, berets, mixing prints, oversized puka shells, embellished Winter sandals, fur-trimmed shoes.

COLORS: Moss, brown, cocoa, mustard yellow, violet.

The Dolce & Gabbana Menswear Fall/Winter 2013-2014 is dedicated to "Devotion", according to designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana:  "Absolute devotion to tailoring, devotion to cut, devotion to fabrics and devotion to details. Devotion to family, devotion to religion and devotion to love". Black and white, brocade prints, frock coats, Virgin Mary prints, bell-sleeved shirts, paper-bag waisted pants.

More Milan Menswear Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2012/2013 Highlights--Now, it's time for Gucci: Creative Director/Head Designer Frida Giannini showed her latest offering for Gucci Menswear Fall 2012 in Milan early this week. The silhouettes were thin, 60's-like and elegant--all the buzzwords that have been staples of the Gucci menswear collections as of late. Giannini's Gucci boy is a chic struggling artist/musician (not so struggling, if he can afford an $800 pair of pants!). She took this theme forward with this most recent collection.
The trousers were unusually loose at the hips and thigh but got stovepipe skinny down the leg and to the ankle. Lots of subtle elegant prints--like jacquard's, paisleys--seen in everything from those aforementioned trousers to jackets. And of course, being that it was Gucci--there were some GORGEOUS bags, sunglasses and shoes, the stuff that any of us will actually be buying! I was also loving the chunky sweater layered over suiting seen above!

Cowboys, Hot Camp Counselors, Italian Gigolos and Ripped Bleached Jeans... It's Menswear Fashion Week!!!!
For their lower "Contemporary" line, D & G, the Dolce & Gabbana boys were in a Western mood for Spring/Summer 2010. Sexy, slim cowboys, Western shirts fitted to a 1/4" of their fat-free male model bodies, cowboy boots worn inside out. This is the sexy Italian version of "Brokeback Mountain". And again, it's all about those torn/ripped and bleached-splashed jeans. I feel like I am back in 1984---and I kinda like it! D&G Menswear Spring/Summer 2010 Runway Video: Dolce and Gabbana:For their luxe high-end namesake line, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, continued on what they know how to do: Dress an Italian Gigolo. For Spring 2010, the silhouette was lean and mean (not a surprise). Elongated blazers (a departure from the current trend of cropped ones) are de rigueur for Dolce & Gabbana. But what the designers did show cropped were the pants. Gentlemen, you will be rolling and pegging your pants come next Spring/Summer. No socks and gorgeous Italian loafers. Yeah, it's Band-Aid time for the back of your feet kids! The show starred Madonna's latest boy toy, Brazilian model Jesus Luz--who was the second "exit" in the show-- wearing black "hot shorts" and a very open black shirt.
