Stephane Rolland Haute Couture Fall 2014

Continuing with Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week...French Couturier Stephane Rolland showed his latest Fall 2014 Haute Couture Collection in an Installation form--on mannequins--as opposed to a full-on runway fashion show. He also released a mini-film (scroll to end of this post to see it)--starring Spanish Supermodel and Muse, Nieves Alvarez, along with French actor Jalil Lesper--showcasing the designers' latest Haute Couture collection. Now, I know that showing your collection in an actual runway show--with models--at a stage such as the Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week--can set back a fashion designer and/or his brand, $500,000-$1 million so I get the I'm-Going-To-Show-On-Mannequins instead. But of course, part of me wishes he did showcase his collection on the runway, since Stephane Rolland's designs really come to life on an actual human being--preferably a 5' 11" model sauntering down a runway.

Chanel Haute Couture Fall 2014

Themes: 'It's Baroque meets Le Corbusier,' said Karl, explaining that his inspiration was images of a Thirties apartment by the architect of Modernism. Yes, there was the obvious influence of Le Corbusier and Baroque but also, lots of Rococo and Infanta Balenciaga-esque references thrown in as well. The collection was GORGEOUS, EXPENSIVE, and when seen in the runway video at the end, can attest to all the magnificent and extreme craftsmanship of the Haute Couture ateliers of Chanel. Side Notes: the Finale Bride was 7-months pregnant London-born New Zealand-raised model Ashleigh Good, and yes, that was Kendall Jenner (of "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" fame) modeling in the show.
Trends: Modern Excess; A-line skirts; biker shorts under skirts; mink!; structured shoulders; sequin dresses; the "Infanta" bell shape.
Colors: White, creme, slate-blue, fire-red, gold, gray, baby blue.

RUNWAY REPORT.....Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week: Atelier Versace A/W 2014

Work It Mija: Jennifer Lopez shows up to the Atelier Versace Fall 2014 runway show, Paris France--J.Lo made an appearance on opening night of Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week on Sunday for Donatella's Atelier Versace Fall 2014 show. She was all things Glam and Fab wearing--naturally--Atelier Versace Fall 2014: a strapless silk crepe tunic with a wide side "cut-out"/slit with metallic belts and sequined silk shorts/pants featuring one pant leg and one shorts leg. We soon were to learn this was a big trend for the Fall 2014 collection...
