WHO WORE WHAT?.....86th Annual Academy Awards Red Carpet Predictions: Amy Adams

Amy Adams, Academy Award Nominee for Best Actress

Amy Adams is nominated for "Best Actress" for playing a glamorous grifter in "American Hustle". In the film she exudes a sex-a-licious vibe in those fabulous vintage Halston and Bob Mackie jersey dresses...

Reviewing her most recent red carpet appearances, I can see that possibly she might have been "influenced" by her "American Hustle" character. Case in point; her plunging neckline Valentino gown she wore at the 2014 Golden Globes. Adams normally loves strong colors and fitted shapes. With that in mind, I'd love to see her in something not so fitted and more "Euro Royalty" looking. One of my favorite gowns from this most recent Paris Haute Couture fashion week was this lace gown with open back and bat-wing like sleeves from the Valentino Haute Couture Spring 2014 Collection. I would love to see Amy Adams in this gorgeous dress:

WHO WORE WHAT?.....2014 Grammy Awards: Katy Perry in Valentino Couture

Katy Perry in Valentino Couture Spring/Summer 2014: Katy is wearing a made-to-measure gown from Valentino Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2014 collection. This collection--and gown--was JUST shown in Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week FOUR DAYS AGO!!! This, in fact, was the first gown in the collection, which was inspired by famous operas.

Musical Couture: This particular gown was a nod to La Traviata; Giuseppe Verdi's score was embroidered in black on the long, full skirt of a parchment-colored tulle dress...

I LOVE this gown and I think Katy looks quite "Princess-like" in it. It's very appropriate she would wear a music-inspired gown...for the Grammys.

Do we like Katy in Valentino Haute Couture?

RUNWAY REPORT.....Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week: Valentino Couture S/S 2014

 Valentino Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2014

The Look: According to Style.com: "Fifty-five looks for fifty-five operas. The Valentino designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli were after something new for Couture this season, and they found it in the age-old tradition of opera. The show opened with a nod to La Traviata; Giuseppe Verdi's score was embroidered in black on the long, full skirt of a parchment-colored tulle dress. After that, Chiuri explained, "we wanted to describe the character of each [opera's] protagonist in a primordial way." By the end, they had called out all the greats: Puccini's La Bohème inspired an elegant navy cashmere cape and silk crepe sheath. Bizet's Carmen produced a pleated bronze tulle gown with silver-gray guipure lace embroideries."

After seeing all the photos and runway video (at the end of the post) I thought it was a STUNNING collection. One of the BEST of this Paris Couture Week. I especially LOVED the monastic caftan-silhouette gowns. Simple, elegant and very Roma Alta Moda COUTURE! Bravo.
