SASHES AND TIARAS.....My Top 20 Favorites, Predictions of Miss World 2014

Who Will Be Miss World 2014?

Last year's Top Three (L to R) 1st Runner-Up Marine Lorphelin, Miss World 2013 Megan Young of the Philippines, 2nd Runner-Up Carranzar Naa Okailey Shooter

Beauty Pageant Fans: The Miss World 2014 beauty pageant is here...well, almost! The 64th edition of the international pageant happens LIVE from London's Excel Center and will be airing on Sunday morning in the USA on E! Entertainment network and yes, I'll be watching. There are 122 contestants from all over the world vying for the coveted crown and so I thought it was the perfect time to announce my Faves. Here are my Favorite TWENTY contestants of the 2014 Miss World--Unless there's a big surprise "where did she come from?" upset, I have a good feeling that one of these lovely, beautiful and intelligent ladies should be the next Miss World.

So, here my Top 20 with my Top Picks per Continental/Geographic Region:

OCEANIA------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Miss Australia Courtney Thorpe: Gorgeous, one of the best in the "Miss World Top Model/World Designer" presentation; I loved the gown above.

ASIA------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Miss India Koyal Rana: elegant, very Bollywood actress look.

Miss Philippines Valerie Weigmann: Besides the "sash" factor and yes, the fact that last year's winner was from the Philippines and therefore everyone will be looking at Valerie to see if she can do it again for the beauty pageant-obsessed Asian nation, I think Valerie is beautiful, has model presence and knows how to wear a FABULOUS gown!

Miss Thailand Maeya Nonthawan Thongleng: Miss Thailand is one of my Top Favorites for the top crown; she's stunning, looks like a supermodel and should DEFINITELY be in the top. I would be SHOCKED if she wasn't. Oh, and yes, I also loved the gown she wore for the "Miss World Top Model/World Designer" presentation.

CARIBBEAN--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Miss Dominican Republic Dhio Moreno Romero: Dhio is tall (5' 11"), sleek and very impacting. One of my favorites from the Caribbean.

Miss Haiti Carolyn Desert: Two words: Shaved Head. I love her! Carolyn is sassy, exotic and so chic. Oh and did I mention she's got one of the prettiest faces in the pageant!

Miss Puerto Rico Genesis Davila: Super beautiful, model-like.

NORTH AMERICA------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Miss Mexico Daniela Alvarez Reyes: Daniela is so pretty, great smile, gorgeous eyes and wonderful presence. One of the best from Mexico in a long time!

Miss United States Elizabeth Safrit: I think Elizabeth is one of the Top Three most qualified contestants to potentially win the "Miss World" crown. She's the total package. Beautiful, pageant-savvy, has presence, all of it.

EUROPE--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Miss Finland Krista Haapalainen: Miss Finland already won the "Miss World Sports and Fitness" challenge event which guaranteed her a spot as a Semi-Finalist, so that's why she's here.

Miss France Flora Coquerel: Flora is a stunner. I love her face, her skin color, her Amazonian stature (she's almost 6 feet tall!). She gave up her "Miss France" crown just last week so being a semi-finalist/finalist in tomorrow's Miss World Finals would be a nice way to say "Adieu".

Miss Hungary Edina Kulcsar: Sexy (maybe too sexy for the "Miss World" peeps) but sexy indeed!. She's gorgeous and could be a contender for the top crown.

Miss Moldova Alexandra Caruntu: Sweet, very pretty and delicately elegant.

Miss Russia Anastasia Kostenko: Another beauty from Europe who I think will be in the Top 20. At least she's one of MY top 20. I especially love her in the photo above in this ivory sequined gown for the "Miss World Top Model/World Designer" presentation.

Miss Scotland Ellie McKeating: Ellie garnered a Top Two position in the "Talent" challenge and was in the Top 20 of the "Top Model". She definitely has presence and seems like a fun cheeky gal, on top of the fact that yes, she's very pretty. All these things I think, add up to a Top 20 placement for Ellie.

SOUTH AMERICA------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Miss Guyana Rafieya Husain: One word: WOW. So exotic, so stunning. She's also in the Top 5 of the "Multimedia" challenge and Top 20 in the "Beauty With A Purpose" challenge. Rafieya HAS to be in the Top 20 for sure! But seriously, let's go back to that top photo/headshot of hers. I'm speechless.

Miss Venezuela Debora Menicucci: If Debora does not place in the Top 20--at least--that will be an upset. Notwithstanding the "sash" factor and yes, how many "Miss Venezuelas" have won "Miss World" and how the "Miss World" Organization loves a good "Miss Venezuela"...Debora is indeed a really stunning contestant--great body, great face, great hair. Another total package. Let's hope she speaks good English!

AFRICA--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Miss Ethiopia Yirgalem Hadish Adhanomi: That face! I mean, seriously, take a look at her on the runway during the "Miss World Top Model/World Designer" presentation. That photo was enough for me to make her one of my favorites.

Miss South Sudan Awien Kuanyin-Agoth: I love Awien's supermodel looks, her gorgeous skin color. South Sudan has definitely been bringing it, in terms of representatives at the "Miss World". Let's hope she DOES NOT wear this gown for the Finals tomorrow:

Bad shoes, too short dress...No.

And Finally, who I think will be the next "Miss World"...
Miss South Africa Rolene Strauss: Every pageant-follower worth his/her sash thinks Rolene is the one to beat. And I agree. Unless she trips or falls, or says something completely idiotic, this lovely woman above, Ladies and Gentlemen, should be the next "Miss World". We'll see.
