Last week, we had a VERY SPECIAL Event and Exhibit at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising/FIDM to celebrate the FIDM Film and TV Costume Design Program and Students and Costume Designs they created inspired by Academy Award-Winning Costume Designer Ruth E. Carter ("Black Panther") and the "Wakanda" world she costume-created.

Jacqueline Saint Anne, Director of FIDM Film and TV Costume Design, challenged her students to create individual costumes, each inspired by "Wakanda" and various tribes/cultures from around the World; to create their own "Wakanda" versions inspired by those indigenous cultures/tribes.

As a WONDERFUL surprise bonus, Academy Award-Winning Costume Designer Ruth Carter made a special visit to the Event to check out the Exhibit and the costumes of our FIDM Film and TV Costume Design students. She was so amazing, inspiring and supportive of the students and their work. We are in dept for her support to the program and to our students.
