PROJECT RUNWAY.....Creating Prototypes Ahead of "Project Runway" Season 22 for Viva Paper Towel Challenge
A little Behind The Scenes...of working as Consulting Producers for "Project Runway": Before Season 22 "Project Runway" filming even began, we got a call from our Show Runner/Executive Producer, telling us about the possible collaboration with Viva Paper Towels in creating designs for the show. Naturally, we were intrigued, to say the least. In order to first find out if, indeed, Viva Paper Towels could be used by our designers/contestants to create runway-worthy designs, as Consulting Producers, we had to first find out for ourselves!
So...we were tasked by executives of the TV Show (our bosses) to create prototypes using Viva paper Towels, to see A) if the paper towels could be used like cloth; B) that we could sew on the paper towels; C) that they could be dyed; D) and, eventually, could "Fashion"-worthy looks be created. And eventually, the answers to all of these were a definitive YES!
David and I quickly got to work, first heading out to one of our local Targets to purchase a bunch of Viva paper Towels; we didn't know how many rolls we would need, so we got A LOT! (Alas, we didn't need that many!) Then, I began to drape a design while David was testing dyes to see how the dyes would take, etc. The dyeing part was tricky, and we explain all this in our PODCAST HERE or scroll to the end of this blog....
