ICE STYLE.....Nick Verreos on "Olympic Ice" TV Show

19
I just got finished taping my segment for Olympic Ice and had a fun time with Mary Carillo and Jamie Salle, the Olympic Pairs Gold Medalist from 2002. They were both so gracious and made me feel right at home joining their commentary. My segment was on critiquing the Ladie's Figure Skating Final Costumes, as well as my experience creating a costume for Sasha. Needless to say I was trying to compose my excitement through the entire segment! Tune in today, Friday Feb. 24th @ 6pm eastern/3pm pacific on USA Network's "Olympic Ice". Hopefully I'll be able to post some fun pictures soon, including one with Olympic Gold Medalist Sarah Hughes, who actually spotted me before I even had a chance to ask her for a picture. She first said "Aren't you Nick from Project Runway?!" and I said "Aren't you SARAH HUGHES!!" We both laughed.

Yay, Nick! Gotta admit, the whole time I was watching the competition last night, I was wondering what you'd say about the costumes. :)

Hello Nick,
I just saw your interview on Olympic Ice. I really enjoyed listening to your comments--you always look so handsome!
I watched the entire Project Runway series, and really enjoyed your classiness. You are sweet hearted and a saavy, very talented man. By the way, you are also a pretty amazing singer! :) Isn't it interesting that the designers on Project Runway that enjoyed singing were all from L.A.?

I am so thrilled to see a teacher break loose and reach his dreams. Take care,
Pam from Austin, Texas

Just wanted to tell you that we were watching you on OI today and my 7-year-old son walked into the room, saw you, gasped and then said, "Is that Nick?" Then he plopped himself down and watched the rest of the great segment with us. Nick, you know you've made it when a 7-year-old boy in Ohio knows who you are!

Hi Nick!

I loved your segment on Olympic Ice. Watching the long program it ocurred to me that two of the American skaters (Sasha Cohen and Kimmie meisner) chose the same color scheme and hairstyle that Michelle Kwan did for her long program in Salt Lake City. If it were me, superstition would have scared me away from that similarity. Do you think the burgundy/gold/hair in a bun look is cursed? I sure do!

Also wanted to say that you were one of my very favorite designers on Project Runway – your work was gorgeous, and you seem like a fun and very sweet guy. I wish we could have seen you show at Fashion Week this year, but I'm sure we will soon! And I'll be watching excitedly to see what new lovelies you create.

Great segment, Nick. Your yin-yang analysis of Arakawa's outfit showed that you know what you're talking about. :)

great job on OI! I've been watching it all week and was estatic when You came on. I think your comments about the kimono appearance of the one garment was so intuitive ...so glad you got to go to the olympics!
