Real Housewives of Mumbai:
Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2013--Believe it or not, those little girls on the right came out from under the Finale Ball Gown on the left. Like Mother Gigogne from "The Nutcracker" but the India version.
The Look: The collection was supposed to be inspired by India. Tim Blanks of Style.com said it was less "Life of Pi" and more "Real Housewives of Mumbai". Ouch, I think. Nevertheless, I loved it. From the photos and video at the end of this post, one could see this was Gaultier's "vision" and/or fantastical vision of his India Couture Princesses. A Couture Trip to India. There were lots of overt Gypsy influences (and originally, the Gypsies came from India, so there!); lots of flowing multi-layered and multi-paneled long skirts, chiffon headscarves, cowl draping, intricate bead work.
