FIDM.....FIDM Orange County "3 Days of Fashion 2013": RECAP!

It's Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising's "3 Days of Fashion" time again! Every Summer, FIDM holds their annual "3 Days of Fashion" in all their California campuses--Orange County (Irvine), San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Diego. The program is like "Fashion Summer Camp". Attendees get to take workshops like Draping the Dress, where you will create a 3-dimensional design on a fitting form; Concept to Consumer, which focuses on design and merchandising; and Creating a Promotional Campaign, where you will work on a photo shoot and a special event, as well as sketching with a nine-head figure (croquis) and hear from past FIDM graduates and instructors.

As the Official Spokesperson for FIDM, I have the pleasure of making "special appearances" at all the "3 Days of Fashion" where I get to speak to the attendees, tell them my "Little Boy Who Loved To Draw-to-FIDM-to-Fashion Designer journey" and show some of my latest NV Nick Verreos and NIKOLAKI high-end designs on a live model. My first stop for this Summer's FIDM "3 Days of Fashion" tour was to visit the FIDM Orange County campus--Here's my BLOG Recap with lots of fun photos:

Say Cheese: Right when I came in to the lecture room--I made sure to snap a photo of the "3 Days of Fashion" students, telling them that I would put it on my Instagram page (I did!)--as you can see they were all SMILES when I told them.

After my lecture and fashion presentation, I gave away special signed FIDM tote bags to some lucky winners:

"Nick Tweet Winner": I also had a "special contest" where I asked attendees to tweet me (and follow me!), then I went to my tweets and randomly picked some of the tweets; those I picked won special prizes---one winner won this signed (and fashion illustrated!) pajama t-shirt above...and another "Nick Tweet" winner won...

Double Social Media Winner: This "Nick Tweet" winner won a signed (and illustrated) t-shirt (I'm showing her tweet on my iPhone in above pic). This one student--Dani Bennett of Arizona--also became a double winner when she won FIDM OC's "Go Social" contest as well. For this Summer's FIDM "3 Days of Fashion", the program is asking the attendees to "Go Social": to share their favorite 3 days of Fashion moments on social media using hashtags #FIDM and #3DaysofFashion and one lucky winner gets to win a $100 Forever 21 Gift Card.

Meet-&-Greet: Afterward, I did a Meet-and-Greet with my model Amanda Fields, where we took lots of photos and signed autographs. All in all, a GREAT start for my "FIDM 3 Days of Fashion 2013" tour.
