Honorary Chair of the Met Gala 2013, Beyoncé in custom Givency by Riccardo Tisci--She wore a two piece ensemble featuring a strapless very corseted bustier with an elaborately appliqued gold and black skirt with a high side slit and long dramatic train (naturally, it's Beyoncé!). She finished it all off with matching thigh-high boots and gloves. She looked very Toreador-Meets-Gothic-Vampira in this.
Last night was THE biggest--or at least most FASHIONABLE--Red Carpet of the year: the Annual Met Gala. The Met Gala 2013 honored the opening of the Spring 2013 Costume Institute Exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum. The exhibition is titled "Punk: Chaos to Couture" and was made possible by Moda Operandi and with additional support provided by Condé Nast. It was curated by The Costume Institute Curator, Andrew Bolton and examines punk’s impact on high fashion from the movement’s birth in the 1970s through its continuing influence today. The exhibition opens May 9 and runs through August 14, 2013.
But let's get to last night's Museum's Costume Institute Benefit "Met Gala" which occurred last night: The one-and-only Beyoncé served as the Honorary Chair with Co-Chairs Academy Award© nominated actress Rooney Mara; Lauren Santo Domingo, Co-Founder of Moda Operandi; Riccardo Tisci, Creative Director of Givenchy; and Anna Wintour, Editor-in-Chief of Vogue. This event is always a HUGE "Fashion Prom"--bigger than the Oscars--in terms of the Red Carpet Alta Moda that is seen. So, let's take a look:
Anna Wintour in Chanel Haute Couture Spring 2013 with her Daughter Bee Shaffer in Christian Dior Haute Couture Spring 2013--Anna Wintour said on the red carpet last night that she wanted to wear PINK because the color pink is the "Color of Punk" (who knew?), so she chose a very un-punk looking flower printed Chanel gown. Wintour's gown was a combination of two from Karl Lagerfeld's Chanel Haute Couture Spring 2013 Collection:

More Couture Party Girls:
Anne Hathaway in Custom Saint Laurent: Congratulations to Anne Hathaway for winning the Best Supporting Actress Oscar. I admit, I was not a fan of her dusty rose Prada gown and I don't think this slate-gray blue gown from Saint Laurent is much better. It is very chic for sure and on Catherine Deneuve: I can totally see. But I expect more from Anne. I'd even give it a "good pass" on Natalie Portman--if she was pregnant. Those are my more-than-two cents.

Her hair, though, was good.
What did you guys think? Let me know and leave your comments here of course :)

While I love Anne and Giambattista Valli, I am not 100% sold on the combination of this actress in this dress. This is another Haute Couture dress that walked the runway just last week and I think that Rachel Zoe might have gotten a bit carried away in putting this dress on Hathaway.
I'm hoping it looks better "in motion" while she is on stage tonight....What do you think?

Renee and Anne: Hollywood Style Muses!!! "Style Star" episode of which I am one of the featured style experts--premiered on the Style Network. This time around, the Style DIVAS were actresses Renee Zellweger and Anne Hathaway--yes, Miss Anne, co-host of Sunday's 83rd Academy Awards!! (how timely!). Polished to perfection, Renee and Anne have perfected their always-flawless fashion sense and dress to impress with clean lines and classic silhouettes. These two ladies know their fashion, are Sample Size perfect and well, have become muses for fashion designers and some fashionistas alike... Of course, we discussed Renne Zellweger in this stunning Vintage Jean Dessès yellow silk chiffon strapless gown which really put her "On the Red Carpet Map" at the Oscars back in 2001 and also discussed... Her "Muse" relationship with Venezuelan-born/American Designer Carolina Herrrera. And then there's Miss Anne Hathaway. Ever since 2006's "The Devil Wears Prada", she has become THE Fashion Girl. Haute Couture should be her two middle names! Armani Prive? (above) Check. Versace Atelier? Check... Marchesa? (above) Check. Valentino Haute Couture? Check. And, as we saw last night at the Oscars, she continued her tradition of being THE girl to Dress if you are a Fashion Designer: She changed a dress every 23.875 minutes. We love you Miss Anne!!! *In case you missed the episode, it airs again Tuesday March 1st 8AM... *Click HERE for all other airing times and dates.

Sleeves, covered shoulders, all-over beading, and a 70's Disco Vibe. Note those. Why? FOUR DEFINITE Red Carpet Trends. Here the beautiful Anne Hathaway hits ALL of them in one dress by Armani Prive Fall/Winter 2010. Armani Prive is the Haute Couture "arm" of Designer Girogio Armani in case you didn't know. In other words, if you wanted to actually order and purchase this made-to-measure sequined gown, it would run you about $100,000. I like the shape and the twisted-draped sleeves but I'm not sure if that blushed copper color works on Anne. Although it helped that she had a major plunging back to the very covered front. What do you think?
