I was excited to be back in San Francisco, one of my favorite cities in the US--and the World--for this fun event. This very special "Meet-and-Greet with Nick Verreos" was a chance to make Benefit Beauty Appointments--such as "Makeupper's" and Brow "fixin's", win a $500 Macy's Shopping Spree and yes, get a chance to take photos with me--Selfies included! Here are a bunch of great photos from the event:

Obrigado SF!!!

Last Thursday, I flew to San Francisco to host two Macy's in-store events celebrating the new Macy's  "Brasil: A Magical Journey" Campaign. My first stop was Macy's Union Square San Francisco! If you know a little bit about me, you may know that I spent much of my adolescence and high school years in the SF Bay Area even though many, many years ago, I "defected" and moved to Southern California. That doesn't mean that I didn't leave my HEART in SF...because I did, and I still LOVE IT!

I was especially excited because my NIKOLAKI design partner and partner-for-life--David Paul--decided to also come with me for support (and to be my "official BLOG photographer") and as a bonus, his mom, Conchita (in above photo enjoying a Brasil-inspired cocktail) also decided to join in on the fun, flying in from San Diego!

I've had the fabulous pleasure of hosting various in-store events at the iconic Macy's Union Square so it's always a joy to return. For Spring/Summer 2012, Macy's is "Going Brazilian"...with a campaign that captures the spirit of this rich and intriguing culture through specially curated in-store shops, Brazil-themed events in stores and a fundraising program to benefit the Amazon Rainforest.

The Macy’s "Brasil" campaign also collaborated with various designers and clothing manufacturers to create Brasil-inspired designs to be sold exclusively at Macy's. Designers like Trina Turk, BCBG Generation, Neon for Impulse, and even Francisco Costa, Women's Creative Director of Calvin Klein, who created a mini-collection just for this Macy's "Brasil" campaign.

My job for the night was to host a very special runway fashion show with "Brasil"-inspired looks, themes and trends, as well as join in on the party fun, and mingle with the guests and enjoy the Brazilian-themed festivities. There were delicious hors d'oeuvres ( several Brazilian shoppers were GUSHING about the Pao De Qeuijo/Brazilian Cheese Bread that was being passed around the party so Kudos to the catering chefs!) and cocktails being passed around as guests mingled, shopped and sat down for the runway show. DJ Antonio of Braza! kept the mood very "Brazilian Beach Lounge House" with his tunes in the background. Guests also received special "Gifts with Purchases" including a colorful make-up bag, Braza! CD's and if they bought Nike merchandise, and actual soccer ball!!

I had a blast showing all these fashions to the packed house on the second floor Impulse Department of Macy's Union Square. The models were GREAT and such good sports when I made them stop mid-runway (without letting them know I would do that beforehand) to point out the bright colors and prints, shirring and/or sequined detail on a specific garment.

Color Fabulous: Nick Verreos (center) with all the "Brasil: A Magical Journey" models and stylist Katie Porter (second from left), Macy's Union Square San Francisco

They were all pros and looked fabulous in their colorful, Brasil-inspired designs styled by the gorgeous--and very pregnant Katie Porter as seen from the photo above.

Post runway show, it was all about meetin'-and-greetin' (how do you say that in Brazilian-Portuguese??), posing with attendees while some of the models posed on stands set up throughout the store...

SambaDa, "Brasil: A Magical Journey" Runway Show Event, Macy's Union Square San Francisco

All attendees then finished off the night's events listening and dancing to SambaDa. I also encouraged and helped everyone to SHOP, SHOP, SHOP!!!! And trust me, they did! Lots of the guests kept stopping me asking me "Where can I find that dress I saw during the runway show?" or "Where's that printed tunic that one of the models wore onstage?". I was happy to help naturally!

Ready for Dinner: Conchita Encinas Hansen, David Paul and Nick Verreos , Scala's Bistro San Francisco

Following the event, David and his mommie Conchita and I headed to Scala's Bistro for a DELICIOUS post-event dinner to end my first very successful Macy's SF Bay Area event last weekend. I had the halibut and it was DIVINE! No pics here but if you go to my Twitter page, you'll see the photo of that aforementioned dish!

Next Up: A Tour of "The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier: From Sidewalk to Catwalk"  Exhibition at the de Young Museum in San Francisco AND my Macy's San Jose Valley Fair "Brasil" event last Saturday! Stay tuned kids...

Nick Verreos makes a "cameo" in CBS5 (San Francisco) "Eye On The Bay" TV program In May, I hosted a really fun event for the release of "Sex And The City 2" at Macy's Union Square in San Francisco. In addition to leading all the attendees through a "Fashion Caravan" of all the different styles represented by Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte and Samantha, I also filmed fun segments at the party/event for CBS Channel 5 San Francisco and the popular weekly variety show, "Eye On The Bay" .Swarthy: Eye On The Bay host Liam Mayclem The show is hosted by the very dashing Liam Mayclem (love his POSH British accent!). We had great fun "throwing" to all the segments in which that week's show would be discussing, which incidentally was entitled Spring/Summer 2010 Trends. Click HERE for the entire video, and enjoy!

San Francisco Host With The Most: Sunglass Shopping, Hot-Dog Eatin', Manicure Polishing and Much More...Billboard Boy: Nick Verreos at Sunglass Hut Grand Opening, Macy's Union Square On Saturday, I flew into San Francisco in a flourish. Here's the rundown: Got up at 5AM, packed, showered and got dressed, got to LAX, and boarded my Virgin America 8 AM flight to the City by the Bay. My trusty car and Bob--one of my favorite drivers in SF--picked me up at SFO and whisked me off to Union Square where I was to host the Grand Opening of the Sunglass Hut store at Macy's San Francisco's flagship from noon-4PM.Posing Divas: Nick Verreos and models pose with the Vogue Eyewear/CFDA Sunglasses designed by Devi Kroell, Matt Murphy and Kara Ross The weather in San Francisco on Saturday was sunny and gorgeous--perfect to be sporting some CHIC new sunglasses. Macy's and Sunglass Hut had set up a whole "Afternoon Soiree" in Level 1 of the store and I was it's "Host with the Most". I brought three of the prettiest Ford models from San Francisco to be my "Nick's Angels" for the event (all styled fabulously by Keylee Sanders, my SF Stylist DIVA from Style Studio).Sunglass Hut Grand Opening Macy's San Francisco Union Square For the Grand Opening, we had hors d'euvres including mini hot dogs, chili-lemon peppered watermelon and sorbet ice cream sandwiches, as well as lemonade and sparkling water being passed around, to entice shoppers to come see the new shop and get in a "It's Summer and I need some Sunglasses" mood.Greetings Macy's Shoppers: Nick Verreos, Sunglass Hut Grand Opening, Macy's Union Square There was a "photo booth" by Fotomio where shoppers got to try on the featured Vogue Eyewear/CFDA sunglasses and take their very own photos. Pinkies was there giving manicures to shoppers. Sunglasses On A Plate: Models showcase Vogue Eyewear/CFDA Designer Eyewear, Macy's Union Square As a bonus--just for that day--with EVERY purchase of a pair of sunglasses, shoppers received a chic little Sunglass Hut cosmetic bag, a Gift Certificate to Pinkies AND a full size bottle of Clarins Self Tanning Gel (Hello!!!!). Between the mini-hot dogs, lemonade, photo-booth taking, the gift-with-purchase and my shouting voice of "Welcome, Come Buy Some Sunglasses!!!, the store was abuzz with shopping madness! OMG! It's Nick: Nick Verreos poses with shoppers, Sunglass Hut Grand Opening, Macy's Union Square The event was a complete SUCCESS! I had a great time and the fact that hundreds and hundreds of people (shoppers, tourists strolling in, fans of Project Runway--yeayyy!!) were stopping by, kept it all lively and fun! That's MY Barbie: Siobhan Tuvo, her daughter Sarah and Nick Verreos, Macy's Union Square Grand Opening of Sunglass Hut A highlight was one of my very best friends, Siobhan Tuvo, stopped by and brought her oh-so-pretty daughter Sarah, whom I had not seen in YEARS!!! Sarah brought me a special somethin'-somethin': The "Project Runway My Scene Nick Verreos Barbie"!!! Well, you just know I began screaming in the microphone like a little girl! She brought it for me to sign and of course, I obliged. It was a perfect ending to a fabulous afternoon at my Sunglass Hut Macy's San Francisco Event! Now it was time to get some rest before the next day's big event: SF Gay Pride Parade!!! Stay Tuned... Below is a fun slideshow with LOTS of photos of the entire event. NICK APPEARANCES.....Macy's Union Square "Sex And The City 2" Shopping Party: RECAP

Golden Gate FASHION!!!!! SF Color: Nick Verreos poses with his Models, Macy's Union Square San Francisco Last Thursday, I had the privilege of flying to San Francisco via one of my favorite airlines, Virgin America (and they are NOT paying me to say that, thank you very much!!!), to host a fun event/party at the iconic Macy's San Francisco flagship: A "Sex And The City 2" Shopping and Fashion EXTRAVAGANZA!!! Nick Verreos hosting the Macy's San Francisco Sex And The City 2 Shopping Party After checking into my sleek room at the Hotel Monaco San Francisco (my SF home away from LA home!) I donned my favorite Top Shop Robins Egg blue jacket (very Carrie-meets-Samantha!), pressed my shirt, and headed to Union Square!Nick Verreos Leads his Guests, Macy's San Francisco Union Square The massive (one of the biggest of all of the Macy's!) second floor Impulse Department was set for this very special night highlighting the upcoming release of "Sex And The City 2" and letting all the VIP shoppers know how they could get their best Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte, and Miranda Fashion ON!!! Since it was a party, there was also a great bar set up serving yummy cocktails and hors d'oeuvres passed around to keep all the shopping girls happy! Cocktails=Get Your Credit Card Out! And I heard those registers ringing!Four Middle Eastern-inspired tents (to mimic the We-filmed-in-Morocco-but-we're-supposed-to-be-in Abu-Dhabi 'Sex And The City 2' movie) were set up throughout the floor with racks and tables of clothing and accessories showcasing the various styles of all the movies' characters. Each "Shopping Tent" was named after the area in NYC where the ladies live, such as "Soho" for Samantha, "Upper West Side" for Charlotte, "Upper East Side" for Carrie, and so on. There were four models representing the girls from "Sex And The City"--my favorite was the "Asian Charlotte"!! Love her! She was styled in a very Uptown and "Ladies Who Lunch" suit with pearls (of course) but still looking very young and fashionable! Speaking of styling, the AMAZING--and very beautiful Keylee Sanders, and her Style Studio gals styled each and every ensemble as well as hand-picked all the outfits that were on display at all the four "SATC2" tents. Style Couple: Nick Verreos and Keylee Sanders, Macy's San Francisco Union Square The event was a great success--the floor was "filled to the rim" with guests shopping and enjoying the entire party. One of my favorite parts: At one point while I was trying to get all guests to come follow me into the "shopping tents", I turned around and all I could see were over 200 women following me like I was the Tour Guide at a MAJOR Museum Tour! I SOOOO wish someone got that on YouTube, because it was quite a moment!I was so happy to see so many stylish Bay Area women come out to the event--some of which were actually only there, because they were fans of me (who knew?). But soon I got them shopping and inspired by all the FABULOUS fashion surrounding us (that's the point, HELLO!!!). I was so happy to see old high school friends (I grew up in the Bay Area) and even one of my cousins showed up! I even got some of the most stylish boys from San Francisco to come out! (love that trench coat huney!). I can't thank everyone enough for coming out and having a fab time at my Macy's San Francisco event! Pink Traveling: Nick Verreos eyes his "dream" suitcase, Macy's San Francisco Union Square Finally, among all the fabulous Rachel by Rachel Roy tops, sexy BCBG dresses and outstanding Michael by Michael Kors accessories (you know, those Sex And The City gals LOVE a statement-making bag and necklace!), I fell IN LOVE with a bubblegum pink Samsonite suitcase, that was featured as part of the Upper West Side/Charlotte tent--Of all things! I can just see THAT PINK suitcase coming out of LAX baggage claim and having ME pick it up. Proudly! I have been invited back to lecture in Florence Italy this Summer for Miami University's Europe Summer Program so maybe by then, I will save enough to own it!
