NICK APPEARANCES.....Oscars 2018: KTLA "Live From The Oscars": Behind The Scenes Photos

Oscars Style--Nick Verreos and Magan Henderson--KTLA 2018 "Live From The Oscars" Pre-Show Special

Last Sunday, I had the pleasure of being a "Special Guest" for KTLA's "Live From The Oscars" Pre-Show. The show began a couple of hours before the actual 2018 Academy Awards red carpet and I was honored to be a "FIDM Correspondent" discussing the fabulous Art of Motion Picture Costume Design Exhibition at my Alma Mater--the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising and the college's FIDM Museum.

I was also part of a wonderful "90 Years of Oscars Style" showcasing gowns from my NIKOLAKI fashion line, inspired by the NINE decades in which the Academy Awards have been around. I will do a BLOG of the Behind-the-Scenes of filming those wonderful segments later...but for now, it's all about the Behind-the-Scenes of filming for the KTLA "LIVE from The Oscars" TV Special...

Here is my PHOTO RECAP--including a fun run-in with THE Common (!):

Credentials Day:
I've Arrived!--Nick Verreos on the plastic covered red carpet of the 2018 Oscars--Dolby Theater Hollywood

Several days before the actual Oscars, I went to get my credentials. This is also a PERFECT TIME for me to "sneak in" some photos on the red carpet...well, before the plastic is removed!

Once there, I ran into one of my FAVORITE TV Azteca-Mexico correspondents, the beautiful and very talented Antonella Michelena from the Info7 TV Show TV Azteca Noreste. I was so excited to see her since I had just filmed some TV segments at FIDM Museum with her, discussing the Academy Award-nominated costumes! I also spotted one of MY ALL TIME FAVORITE Supermodels, Brazilian Runway and Tom Ford/Gucci-editorial DIVA Caroline Ribeiro:

Nick Verreos with Brazilian Supermodel Caroline Ribeiro--I just about DIED, when I spotted Caroline Ribeiro on the red carpet, while I was taking photos. Naturally, I just couldn't let this moment go by without--politely--asking her if I could take a photo (OK, SEVERAL!) with her...as well as tell her how much I LOVED her! She couldn't have been sweeter.

Oscars Day:

I was excited to be part of the KTLA "Live From The Oscars" coverage, discussing the Red Carpet, as well the Academy Award nominated costumes plus much more...

We filmed LIVE from the Loews Hollywood Hotel and it was A BLAST to be with KTLA's Doug Kolk and Megan Henderson:

After the "Live From The Oscars" Pre-Show, I was on with Megan during the KTLA News segments giving my 2018 Oscars Red Carpet "Best Dressed" commentary...

During my time filming, I was SOOOO EXCITED when I ran into the FABULOUS Tanika Ray of Extra TV...

And then...I spotted COMMON!!! So...of course, I politely asked to take a photo with him :)

After we were done filming, the Loews Hollywood Hotel staff were kind enough to...
Delight us with a plate of their DELICIOUS Sweet Potato Tater Tots...#Yum

Once I was "wrapped"...I ran to the actual Academy Awards red carpet to film a fun Red Carpet TV Segment with my friend Raffi Boghosian and Dean McCarthy for The Insider Arabia and got the chance to take some photos:

NICK APPEARANCES.....Macy's "The Style List" Macy's Beverly Center: RECAP

LA Fashionistas, Expert Fashion Advice and Fashion Rock Stars... Welcome to The Style List: Laurie Pike, Rachel Pally, Daniella Clarke, Nick Verreos and Corey Lynn Calter, Macy's Beverly Center Last Thursday evening, I had the extreme honor--and pleasure--of hosting The Style List at the Macy's Beverly Center. LA Magazine Style Editor (and LA Fashion Doyenne) Laurie Pike, along with LA Designers Rachel Pally (the "Queen of Jersey"), Daniella Clarke (of Frankie B. low-rise fame) and Corey Lynn Calter (a favorite of celebs such as Jessica Alba and Kate Hudson) were on hand as my "Style List Panel Girls". Estee Lauder Education Expert Rodgers McCowan was also there showing women "tricks of the beauty trade" for the season. Nick Verreos on "The Style List" stage, Macy's Beverly Center (photo courtesy of LookBookLA.com) As I arrived, the second floor Impulse Department (which carries ALL the hip Contemporary brands and designers) was set for the party! Nikolaki Designing Duo: Designers David Paul and Nick Verreos (photo courtesy of LookBookLA.com) A fabulous runway stage was set up smack dab in the middle of the floor, the DJ was in place, and of course, Cosmo Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres were being passed around as guests mingled and took their seats for The Style List. Speaking of guests, I was so happy to see so many of my good friends come out in support, including: John Wade, Marc Jacobs West Coast "boy wonder" (and my male style muse btw!),the ever-so-gorgeous style expert/correspondent and celebrity interviewin' DIVA (and sister-from-another-mother!!!) Tanika Ray, and Fashion Designer Michael Costello and his "muse", model Suwana Perry (in one of his little cocktail numbers). Photo Courtesy of LookBookLA.com I wasn't the only one who brought friends: I spotted the chic Linda Ramone (wearing a white fur-and-leather coat). She was on hand to show some rock-and-roll love to designer Daniella Clarke. Yes, kiddies, Linda Ramone at the Macy's Beverly Center! Who would have thunk it? The Style List event was a combination of Fashion Runway show and Panel Discussion. We discussed topics such as "Does Hollywood influence fashion?", "Why Jersey Is Good For You?", "How difficult are jeans to fit?", and "The Influence of LA Style to the Rest of the World". In between the interviews there were great fashion show "breaks", showcasing the trends of the season with beautiful girls from LA Models. Photo Courtesy of LookBookLA.com To "christen" the fashion show portion, of course, I had to do my own little runway STOMP. I think the crowd enjoyed that (thank goodness I didn't fall off my YSL Johnny Boots!). Nick Verreos poses with models backstage wearing looks from Corey Lynn Calter, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Patterson J. Kincaid, Splendid and Rickie, Macy's Beverly Center I loved this Rachel Pally "Rosy" pink tube dress, modeled by Houda. Perfect for a Summer Pool Party in the Hollywood Hills. This black ruched Rachel Pally dress on model Lisa P. got some of the loudest applause from the guests. Now THIS is how you get a BIG prenup ladies from that rich Goldman Sachs Sugar Daddy who wants to marry you...or how you get off your private jet in St. Tropez. Take your pick! The Macy's Style List Fashion Show would not be complete without seeing some of those HOT and very sexy Frankie B. jeans on the runway: Here, Houda models the "Alice" style. Model Heaven: America's Next top Model Cycle 9 Winner Saleisha Stowers and Nick Verreos, Macy's Beverly Center The event was a SMASHING success: Everyone kept coming up to me telling me how much they enjoyed it, how informative it was, and what a great host I was (that's what they were telling me, I SWEAR!!). Afterward, I spotted many guests shopping and looking for some of the Rachel Pally and Corey Lynn Calter dresses as well as the Frankie B jeans they had just seen on the runway. As a FAB bonus for attending, The Style List guests enjoyed the very special "Macy's Family and Friends" 25% discount throughout the store (until Monday, May 3rd) --including the Impulse Department (which NEVER is part of that discount kiddies!). And don't forget to let Macy's help you create your very own Style List, with their Macy's By Appointment service. It's like having your own Stylist and Fashion expert--for FREE!!! Oh, and finally: Get out there and SHOP SHOP SHOP!!!!
