WHO WORE WHAT?.....2017 Golden Globe Awards Red Carpet: Natalie Portman in Custom Prada

 Natalie Portman in Custom Prada

Natalie Portman in Custom Prada: Natalie Portman looks absolutely STUNNING in this chartreuse colored Custom Prada gown. Portman is nominated for her role of the former First Lady Jackie Kennedy in the film "Jackie" and I love the "vintage" look of this gown--it's very 1960's Alta Moda Couture in its shape, 3/4 sleeves and minimalist embellished detail. She looks like the wife of an Ambassador...in 1965. But still so very now!

WHO WORE WHAT?.....2013 Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Oscar Party Couture:

Jennifer Lawrence in Calvin Klein: Loved the sequined column she changed into for the Vanity Fair Oscar Party. It makes sense that she would go for a completely different silhouette if she wanted to do an outfit change. The gown fits her well and is right on-trend when it comes to being an all-over sequin gown.

Fan Bingbing in Oscar de la Renta Spring 2013: Fan Bingbing wore a fuchsia Marchesa gown to the Academy Awards and for the Vanity Fair Party (above) this Oscar de la Renta mitered striped silk satin strapless ball gown with  a high waist/full gathered skirt silhouette. She is such the fashion-plate and well, looks like a DOLL in this. Only Fan Bingbing can pull off this kind of gown with all those stripes.

WHO WORE WHAT?.....18th Annual SAG Awards: Natalie Portman in Giambattista Valli Couture

Natalie Portman in Giambattista Valli Haute Couture Spring 2012: Natalie chose a dress hot off the Haute Couture Runway for this years SAG Awards. This dress has already racked up more Frequent Flier Miles then most of us this year! Giambattista Valli is one of the hottest Couturiers at the moment and you can see why Natalie would be drawn to this stand-out collection. But this Deep Aubergine Chiffon Strapless Gown with Bust Bow Detail is a bit overwhelming for her petite frame. Besides the color being a slightly drab the bow detail is a bit much on her. It works for the 6'0" tall model, but not so much on Natalie. Let me know what you think?!!

WHO WORE WHAT?.....69th Annual Golden Globe Awards: Natalie Portman in Custom Lanvin

Natalie Portman in Custom Lanvin: It comes as no surprise that some of the most stunning gowns of the night were custom made. There is something so special about a dress that is created especially for the wearer and it helps that some of the recipients of these gowns are the most BEAUTIFUL women in the world! Nowhere is that more apparent than on the stunning Natalie Portman. After walking all the Award Show Red Carpets pregnant last year, Natalie arrived this year showing off her svelte and petite figure in this dark Fuchsia Duchess Silk Satin Strapless Gown with Side Drape Detailing. I love that the dress shows off Natalie's figure, while not being too overt about it (which is neither her style or Alber Elbaz' (designer of Lanvin). This was definitely one of my favorite looks of the night. She was perfectly accessorized with Harry Winston Diamonds and a Dyed to Match (big trend of the night!) clutch.

WHO WORE WHAT?.....17th Annual SAG Awards: Natalie Portman in Azzaro

Natalie Portman in Custom Azzaro Spring 2010
"Black Swan" actress Natalie Portman wore a strapless white silk crepe column gown from Azzaro and its Argentine Designer Vanessa Seward. First of all, can Natalie Portman get MORE beautiful? Her make-up, hair: Absolutely GLOWING. Now onto her gown: It looks like a combination of two dresses from the Azzaro Spring 2010 Collection originally shown two years ago on October 2009 (it still looks fresh and modern kids!). One is long and features pleated drapes originating from the bust at center front with no neckline trim-but styled with a gold sequin bolero (as seen above).
Azzaro Spring 2010
And the other is a shorter more trapeze-shaped cocktail dress which has almost the same crystal trim at the neckline as in Portman's. I like this gown on Natalie and it's nice to see a pregnant young lady wearing a fitted column gown instead of a tent-line Empire-style one. I'm just thinking it might be a little too tight on her. What do guys think?

WHO WORE WHAT?.....68th Annual Golden Globes: Natalie Portman in Viktor and Rolf

WHO WORE WHAT?.....68th Annual Golden Globes: Natalie Portman in Viktor and Rolf

What was "Black Swan" actress Natalie Portman going to wear? This was the BIG Fashion Question on everyone's lips. Tout le Monde (including moi) said it was going to be Dior (she's a Spokesperson for Dior Perfumes) or Rodarte (they costumed "Black Swan"), but no, she wore a strapless dusty pink silk charmeuse gown by the Dutch design duo of Viktor & Rolf. The silhouette, and draped cascading center front ruffle were perfect to "hide" her little baby bump. And the oversized sequin rose placed right at the bust line also drew your eye to her gorgeous face. She looked pretty, elegant and rather "Madonna (not the singer kids!) with Waiting Child"-like.
