WHO WORE WHAT?.....Met Gala 2015 Red Carpet: MADONNA and Katy Perry

Spray Painted Queens: Katy Perry and Madonna--both in Moschino by Jeremy Scott, at the 2015 Met Gala

Last night at the 2015 Met Gala, two Music Divas wore Moschino: Madonna and Katy Perry. One was Custom and the other, from the Moschino Fall 2015 runway show. Let's begin with Madonna...
Madonna wore a black silk satin gown with the words Rebel Heart "spray painted" throughout the gown and attached cape. Leave it to Madonna to promote her album "Rebel Heart" at the Met Gala red carpet. I thought it was very "Macy Gray" of her. Remember this:

WHO WORE WHAT?.....Grammy Awards 2015: Madonna in Custom Givenchy

Madonna in Custom Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci--2015 Grammy Awards Red Carpet

THE one-and-only Madonna walked the 2015 Grammy Awards red carpet in a sequined, lace and studded custom Toreador-inspired ensemble from Givenchy. It was custom and designed by Riccardo Tisci, the fabled house's Creative Director. The look was accessorized with some over-the-knee leather open-toe boot/shoe couture and matching arm and finger-less bicep-length gloves. The look also had the Toreador (bullfighter) traditional epaulets and hat, of course.

What did you guys think? Olé Si? Or No me gusta?

WHO WORE WHAT?.....2014 Grammy Awards: Madonna in Ralph Lauren

Madonna in Ralph Lauren Spring 2014, with son David Banda Mwale Ciccone Ritchie, also in Ralph Lauren

Madonna in Ralph Lauren Spring 2014:  Madonna walked the 2014 Grammy Awards red carpet with her son David--in a black double-breasted suit from Ralph Lauren Spring 2014. The ensemble featured a white dress shirt, black tie, elongated jacket with satin notched collar lapels and slightly flared-leg pants. She accessorized it all with a wide-brimmed hat, cane and a grill. Oh and yes, her very dapper son David.

So...what do you guys think? Is it a Yeay or Nay, on Madonna's 2014 Grammy Awards red carpet look?

It's Vegas Baby: performers from Cirque du Soleil's ""--Billboard Music Awards 2013, MGM Grand Garden Arena Las Vegas

Last night was the 2013 Billboard Music Awards which were held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The BMAs are honors given out by Billboard, the preeminent publication covering the music business. The first Billboard Awards show occurred in 1989. The show didn't happen from 2007-2010 (it couldn't find a network to broadcast it after the contract with FOX expired plus it also couldn't find sponsors to pay for it all) but then returned in 2011 to its current "TV home" on ABC. Now, let's get to the FASHION....

WHO WORE WHAT?.....Met Gala 2013 Part 2: Models, Singers, Kim Kardashian

Heidi Klum in Marchesa Fall 2013--Heidi Klum went eighteenth-century romanticism Glam Goddess for last night's 2013 Met Gala red carpet as opposed to taking the "punk" route. Good choice I say! She wore a silvery-white gown form Marchesa Fall 2013 collection with a sculptured and opulent strapless bustier and wrap-around draped floor-length skirt with train.

In my last posting, I highlighted the actresses, Chairs and Co-Chairs of last night's fabulous and very FASHION OBSESSED 2013 Met Gala red carpet honoring the opening of the "Punk: Chaos to Couture" exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum in NYC , so now,  it's time to check out what the supermodels, singers, designers and a Reality Show Queen (yes, Miss Kim!) in my Part Two edition...Let's get to it:

WHO WORE WHAT?.....Madonna at the 2012 Super Bowl, Givenchy and Philip Treacy headdresses

Super Bowl DIVA
Haute Cleopatra: Madonna as she makes her Super Bowl XLVI Halftime Show entrance, in Givenchy costume and Philip Treacy-designed headdress
Seriously...I NEVER watch Football. I know that statement doesn't come as such a surprise. I watch FIGURE SKATING. Oh, and maybe some Rugby and Soccer. Hello, have you seen those boys and their shorts??? OK, I digress. Anyhow, the last time I watched the Super Bowl was when Janet Jackson had that now-infamous Wardrobe Malfunction moment. That was EIGHT years ago. And so it took that long for me to come back and watch. Why? Well, Madonna of course! I think it was brilliant to at least for one year, take a break from the typical Country Music and Rock-and-Roll Halftime Show of usual, completely geared to the Caucasian Straight male...and well, get the GAYS to watch!!! At least, this one, and all my closest of friends.
Warrior Goddess: Madonna in Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci
The entire halftime show was FABULOUS! From the moment Miss Madonna was brought in chariot-style by all these hunky Egyptian warriors to the "I am a Blond Jesus HUNEY!!! And Don't You Forget It" I enjoyed every minute of it. Especially because of the FASHION Madonna and her "team" gave.
Superbowl Jesus Gown-Coat: Madonna Super Bowl 46 Halftime Show

Guess who styled it all? No, it was not the incorporable Arianne Phillips, Academy Award-nominee for W.E. costume designer extraordinaire--and her stylist to her most recent "Give Me All Your Luvin" video. It was all done by stylist and costume designer Bea Åkerlund - wife of director Jonas Åkerlund. Bea Åkerlund already worked with Madonna in the past and her client list also features Lady Gaga, naturally. Her ensembles were by Givenchy and the brand's Italian Creative Director/Designer Riccardo Tisci. At first, I thought it was Versace--the black and gold studded details were VERY Versace circa 1994. "Vintage Versace" some would say. But nope, it was Givenchy. Her extravagant headgear was designed by Haute Milliner Philip Treacy--yes, of Princess Beatrice fame. She also wore million-dollar dangle diamond earrings that once belonged to Elizabeth Taylor, and were purchased by the jeweler Marina B. from the late actress' recently auction. You can see the earrings poking from her blond locks in the above photo. And finally, there was a "Project Runway" connection...
Madonna's Egyptian/Greek Nymphs Costumes by Rami Kashou

Project Runway Season 4 Finalist and current Project Runway All Stars contestant/designer--and friend, Rami Kashou, designed the Greek-Egyptian Warrior Nymphs' costumes seen in the screen-cap above, from the beginning of the fabulous halftime show. Congratulations to Rami for this coup! And, thanks Madonna for making me watch Football and the Super Bowl once again--after an eight year absence!
