Nick Verreos--FIDM San Diego 2014 "3 Days of Fashion"

To cap off my special "final day" appearances at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising/FIDM's  annual "3 Days of Fashion", it's time for my BLOG RECAP of FIDM San Diego 2014 "3 Days of Fashion"...

I've already blogged about my visits to FIDM San Francisco HERE, FIDM Orange County HERE and FIDM L.A. HERE in case you missed them. I always love visiting the San Diego Campus for various reasons including: the fact that the weather is ALWAYS perfect and my NIKOLAKI partner David Paul, grew up in San Diego and his mommy and family still live there so it's always a chance to see them. 

My appearance at FIDM San Diego's "3 Days of Fashion" was on Wednesday July 2nd, but David, myself--and our doggie Benny--arrived the day before so we could settle in comfortably. We tried to check in to the hotel--the Solamar Kimpton Hotel in San Diego. But my room was not ready so we began walking around and quickly discovered that the US vs Belgium World Cup match was happening just as we arrived--and...

...being projected nearby at Petco Park with THOUSANDS of fans watching it. So, what better way to wait for our room to be ready, than to watch the US vs. Belgium 2014 World Cup match. As you may know by now, it wasn't a "happy ending" in terms of the US winning. But it was (kind of) exciting to watch the game outside the fences of Petco Park (they wouldn't let us into the actual park because of our little doggie Benny!).

Doppelganger: I pre-chose my outfit days before coming down to San Diego---I wanted to wear a very "July 4th" ensemble of red-white-and-blue--also signifying my "Go USA!" World Cup futbol alliance of the game that was happening the day before my FIDM San Diego "3 Days of Fashion" appearance. Well, without knowing, I kind of ended up doing an "homage" of sorts to "Ron Burgundy"--the infamous news anchor of the film "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy". Yeah...#StayClassySanDiego

Boy Catwalk Contest: As a surprise, I decided to have an impromptu "Boy Catwalk Contest" to start the FIDM San Diego 2014 "3 Days of Fashion". I asked all the guys in the audience to stand up and gave them the news that this was going to be a "FIDM San Diego 3 Days of Fashion" Walk-Off.

Hanging Gowns: I brought three of our NIKOLAKI gowns for the final day of FIDM San Diego 2014 "3 Days of Fashion" and we had to hang them as you can see on tables that were turned horizontally for my better half--David Paul--to steam.
